The Kilbirnie Hotel is a family-run hotel in Newquay, overlooking the Atlantic and within walking distance of local beaches. They engaged us to refresh their online presence, making it more appealing, user-friendly, and aligned with the quality of their on-site experience.

Plan

The existing site offered a lot of information about rooms, facilities, and offers, but lacked a clear, compelling way for users to explore those. We worked with the hotel team to prioritise key journeys (e.g. “Book a room”, “See facilities”, “Check offers”) and simplify navigation. We distilled their messaging to ensure visitors quickly understand what makes The Kilbirnie special — location, views, facilities, and hospitality.

Develop

Built in WordPress, the site uses modular content blocks to manage rooms, offers, facilities, and events flexibly. We ensured responsive design, fast load times, and clear paths to booking. The site is structured so the hotel can easily update seasonal offers, add new packages or refresh gallery images as needed.

Design

We created a light, coastal-inspired visual style with emphasis on imagery and clean typography. The homepage now showcases the hotel’s ocean views, facilities (pools, sauna, fitness suite) and room types in a clear, inviting way. Across the site, consistent layouts, photo-rich sections, and intuitive calls-to-action guide visitors to book or explore further.
